What would be a good (average) resistance reading to obtain when checking a HT ignition cable. Could some one explain how this cable provides flame sensor feedback to the control box to extinguish the spark. I would mention the make of boiler but ChrisR might just order me a skip.

The ballast is a Vossloh Schwabe no 922428, just to add to the confusion I have 2 of these lights and just taken the cover off the other, this also has a 4 terminal block but is labeled L/v, L/f, E, and N but this time the L/v goes to the ballast.

I have a Flu light to fit and the incoming mains terminal has a 4 terminal block connector with L, N, E and a N/v terminal the Nv wire is blue and white and goes to the ballast. should the mains neutral be connected to the N or N/v

Can a single impeller pump be used to boost just the Hot water to a thermostatic shower mixer valve with the cold fed from cold water storage in the Loft. Wont there be a pressure difference at the valve ?
