Correct joist size for false ceiling

Error. Apologies, I gave incorrect size for the joists I was going to use. Should have been 47 X 97 not 47 X 75. I.e. 4x2 not 3x2 inches.

Correct joist size for false ceiling

Thanks J&K, that’s really helpful. Yes I thought about metal framing but to be honest I would prefer to use timber which I have worked with extensively before (Smaller false ceilings and a loft conversion). I only do this stuff for myself so not sure about starting with something new. Also...

Which Lap Cement for felt shed roof

Hi, i'm just about to put a green mineral felt covering on my new shed and I can't find a Lap Cement like I used some years ago. That was Anderson Lap cement, very thick and worked well. I can see lots of products available but many are 'Adhesives' and seem very thin and I think are made to...

    Water supply to shower

I am running a mains water supply up a brick wall to an electric shower. Should the 15mm copper pipe be protected/wrapped or in a conduit or just covered/buried in plaster? The 4.5inch brick wall will be dry lined with 12.5mm moisture proof plasterboard and the shower area panelled with...

    Wiring Shower

Thanks, in my case the inside route is covered with carpets under fitted furniture etc so outside is much quicker. Is tubular plastic conduit the right one for this?

    Wiring Shower

To avoid pulling up floors etc to run a new shower cable, I am routing a 10mm twin & earth from the consumer unit, through the outside wall of the house, along the outside wall at 7ft height to re-enter the house at first floor level, then up to a 10kw shower in the bathroom. The external run...
