Thanks for the replies so far. ChrisR and Jack seem to be advising heating the pipe. I thought you only heated the fitting, as the solder is drawn to the flame. I have never put the flame to the pipe. Perhaps part of the problem? So, you're saying to put the heat on the pipe as well?

Ok thanks for your replies. At present it heats 10 radiators and hw perfectly, when I tested it. Cash is really tight after the move. Will give the system a good clean, and keep it going as long as possible. Will replace when it dies. If I get another 2 years, will have funds by then. :)
