    I find that wire wool works well on profiled edges. You only have to give a light sand over to get a key. If you want a really smooth job then total stripping should be considered.

    has anyone fitted these? They are like mini worktops but attach to make a small 90 deg. splashback. So the worktop has an angle at the back. When fitting is it just a case of gripfilling to wall and then silicon seal the corner? Advice appreciated. :oops:

    tips before I start

    make sure the sander is kept level and try to do as much of it diagonally as you can. Make sure all nails are punched down and tacks / staples removed.

    You need to cut pieces of timber to the shape of the hole. Apply wood glue around the edges the nail lat across (thin piece of wood) the top at 90 deg. Then insert into the hole. The lat acts as a support for the insert. Hope this helps.
