    Shower Switch outside of bathroom.

Any chance someone can clarify something for me. A customer wants their shower switch to be located in the airing cupboard rather than the bathroom. Is this ok or not? I cant find any specific reference to it in Part P docs I have been looking through and there seems to be conflicting advice...

Been working mainly as a subbie for years but witht the current economic climate I am taking on my own work. Done a lot of bathroom refurbs in the past for small builders so advertised for bathrooms, kitchens etc, anything I can't do I will get someone in for. However, just priced up my...

Thanks guys, apparently it was serviced just over 6 months ago as it was a rented property, whether that was done properly or not is another matter! How can i tell if the DHW flow switch is working?

    Vokera 20/80 flowmatic

Hi All, If anyone can shed some light on a problem I have with my boiler I would be grateful. It is a Vokera flowmatic as per the title and it is a bit random with the hot water. Most of the time when the hot tap goes on I get a burst of hot water followed by luke warm irrespective of the...

    Nailers

I am after a cordless nailer and thought I'd canvass some opinion first. I have an Hitachi gas nailer for 1st fix and I do like it, takes pas gas and nails so easy enough to get supplies. What I wasnt now is a smaller one which will do second fix and also be useful for other things. I have...

    Loft Ladder Query

A loft conversion requires building control and they will not pass it if there is no staircase as it has inadequate means of escape. Stairs can be internal or external but they have to be there. Who has designed teh conversion as they should know this!

    windows xp home retail

Only way to be sure is to try it, I have a few different oem's from various manufacturers. Some will not even install on the wrong machine whereas some will install and activate fine. Not tried an advent one though.

    We had a leak.................

My thoughts exactly, assuming you all share a drain then she is slowly blocking them by doing this which no doubt will cost everyone when they eventually start to back up!!

    windows xp home retail

The licence will be for that exact version, if it is an acer for instance the licence is for acer's version of xp and I am fairly sure this is non transferable. I may be wrong but as the manufacturers pay considerably less than the consumer buying a boxed copy off the shelf I believe that it...

Materials means materials and not tools right?!

It wouldn't be on the bill as it will be included within the 'labour' charge. If it's under 20 quid then whatever blades and bits he got will be blunt after the job. seems like you're being a bit petty to me considering the guy has obviously done a good job (as you're not complaining), provided...

Who is responsible for identifying slanted wall ??

From what I can see the framework has been put in the wrong place and everyone has carried on regardless. The responsibility to you lies with whoever undertook the project for you ie architect/contractor. In theory if your existing wall was 6" out of plumb then the chippy should have...

solid wood flooring - float or secret nail?

thanks for the reply, all the packs are opened and they are all 1200mm long. What would be the issue with doing it as a floating floor if they were short lengths?
