in my experience, when you use an old drain off, it usually leaks afterwards anyway. we always shut a radiator off, take it off & drain it from the valve, OR as kev says, if theres a void under the floor, just cut into it below the boards & let the water drain into the abyss below lol

the bolts will be at the top of the basin, so the actual stress is at the bottom of the basin against the wall, its called a cantalever, the wall under the bolts takes the weight, the bolts just form a pivot.

theres a little grey ball should be in the pipe, common fault, even if the ball hasnt gone down the plug hole & u put it back it will soon blow out again, my advice is swap for a triton. btw is it the teardrop shape? (wider @ top) had a lot of that problem with those when they did the silver ones.

if u need to drain the cyclinder (drain offs never work) remove the top connection off the cylinder(wrap a sheet round to mop what spills) then drop a hose pipe in with a foot of copper stuck in it & syphon it out. (the copper stops the pipe curling in the cylinder)
