05 Plate Ford Mondeo - How To Replace a Sidelight

Thread title says it all really.

05 plate Ford Mondeo. O/s sidelight bulb needs replacing.

Bought a replacement sidelight bulb from Halfords, but can't see how to fit it - and even Halfords admitted defeat when my wife took it in.

So, is there an easy step-by-step way of doing this?

Are there any pictures on how to do it?

if it's the front side light, it's easier to take the headlight out, there's only two like metal clips you just pull up and the headlight comes out

I looked in the manual and it detailed the procedure.

It does indeed involve releasing the two clips either side of the headlight assembly and then sliding the unit forwards.

The plug can then be removed from the rear and the whole headlight assembly then removed from the car.

Replacing the bulb is a cinch, as is reassembly of the headlight unit into the car.

The only problem I encountered was removing the front grille, which had to be done before the headlight unit can be removed.

Once this was cracked, the whole removal, replacement of the bulb & re-installation of the headlight into the car and the replacement of the grille took only anouut 5 minutes tops.
