I was asked today by a friend if this is acceptable. He has one main ring and a small (2 double sockets) ring sharing an MCB. He has no space on the CU for an extra MCB and does not want to tear the house apart to link the two rings into one.

Take all 4 legs out. Join together one large ring leg & one small ring leg in a 30A JB.
Put the remaining large ring leg & small ring leg back into the CU.

Don't forget to verify that you do have two rings before you start!
You would have to to be able to figure out which ones to join together!
