Im wanting to put a 200 gallon fish aquarium(2500lbs) on a second floor. The tank will be sitting parallel between 2 floor joist. The joist are 2x8 and are 12' long. One end rest on an outside wall and the other end is connected to a triple 2x10 beam.
I know the joist aren't enough to support the tank and am considering sistering the floor joist with some LVL's and joist hangers. Im trying to figure out what size beams I would need to use to support the 2500lbs of weight.
