Hi,

Recently had a loft extension and a new bathroom. We had new wiring put in (3 core and earth wire) as some circuits are two way.

I have one wire sticking out the wall surplus to requirements so would like to fit the Ikea Godmorgen Light shelf (see link:)

The shelf only has 3 inputs (Live, neutral, earth). What do I do with the spare wire from the 3 core plus earth main wire?

Thanks

Provided there is enough space, put the 'spare wire' into a little bit of connector block and tuck it away somewhere safe.

Kind Regards, John

Hi everyone,

Just wired it all up. It works - but not with the light switch so it is on all the time?

Any suggestions?

It is presumably connected to the supply line(live) and not the switched line.

You will likely have to alter the wiring in the ceiling rose or wherever it is connected.

Unsure where it is connected?

If I was to ditch the lit shelf and go for a light mirror with an On/Off switch would this work?

Thanks.
