3 phase question

Can you supply a machine with L1, L2 and L3, using a 3 phase supply to feed 3 seprate 230 volt cicuits. The total load is 38amp spread over the 3 phases. My concern is that they are all relying on the single nuteral core. It is 1.5mm, 4 core SWA over a distance of approx. 22 meters via a 3 pole type C MCB 16amp.

I think you're saying that:
- You have a 3-phase supply.
- Currently, it just feeds single-phase circuits.
- You want a add a 3-phase machine.

Is that right?

If so, you don't need to worry about the neutral.

What is the current carrying capacity of 1.5mm2 SWA?
 
What do you mean by '3 seperate 230v circuits' and what type of machine? (Bit better description required).

The SWA should carry the current subject to refernce method and a few other considerations but generally, 1.5mm SWA with a 16A protection is fine.

Im just a little confused with the circuit because your talking of single phase circuits yet seem to have a triple pole mcb?

Do you mean you have a 3 phase machine?

OK, the motor won't work unless it's a real 3-phase supply.
 
It Is a single phase motor They have run L1 to one Element 230 volts L2 to second Element L3 to single phase motor All relying on the one neutrel in the 4 core SWA
 
OK so now maybe we have all the information we need to give useful answers!
 
Except I'm still not sure if the "3 circuits" mentioned in post #6 are on the same phase or not....
