Folks,

Iam looking to put some decking in the back garden against the house. The decking will be raised 40cm from the ground. (which is paving slabs)

Size of the decking is 2m* 7m.

I am planning on putting the upright every 1m, quesiton is would it be allright to use 75*75mm posts or 100mm*100mm for the uprights?

Reason for asking is I can find metal footing brackets to bolt on to the slabs for the 75*75mm posts but I have a hard time sourceing these for the 100*100mm posts.

Many thanks

75 x 75 will be fine. you wont need the metal brackets, it will be fine to bear them staright off of the paving slabs. they wont move due to the weight pushing them down from the weight of the decking
