Hi guys,
Ive just hired a tyrolean gun. Ive never done this before. I presume I need some sort of sand/cement mix. Is there a magic ratio? Would it be better for me to upload a photo of the existing tyrolean render so you can see?
Thanks

You can mix your own using silver sand and cement but it is simpler to buy the 'cullamix' products that are sold in various colours i.e. off white, cream etc.
Cullamix is rather expensive though.

Getting the consistency right is the tricky bit. Too thin and it will run, too thick and it will be clumpy.

Always keep the tyrolean gun moving.

Do the low bits whilst the gun is full and the high bits when the gun is almost empty due to having to tilt the machine.

Build the stuff up in layers and mask up thoroughly.
