Found a suitable pendant light, at end of small circuit.

Planning to continue the circuit by adding one loop-in switched ceiling rose and then run the power feed on straight into another switch that will supply four 240v down-lighters in a row.

That will be the end of the circuit.

Can anyone tell me does that sound okay/acceptable practice?

Also I may have to join a lighting cable in ceiling, if I use a fixed maintenance-free box that should be okay?

The ceiling rose, of this suitable pendant light, does it have the line, neutral and earth (feed in), as well as a separate cable to its switch?

Why would you need to
add one loop-in switched ceiling rose
?

For downlights, i would extend the existing feed to the new switch, loop in at the switch and then run separate cable to the 4 downlights. Then you have no need for and junction boxes at all.
