My 7 year old Alpha CB24 is refusing to function at the moment.

When it is turned on after a reset the yellow light flashes on and off as it should.

When I try to draw some heat by either DHW or CH it gets all the way through fans, pump everything running, fires up the boiler flame for about 7 seconds and then dies and shows the red light continuously.

I have run through the troubleshooting checklist. Which I think leads me to the 'Flame sensing electrode' - Or the PCB  I have tried cleaning the electrode and hoovering in that area of the boiler - but no change.

I am in a quandry as I have a new boiler being delivered very shortly and obviously don't want to spend too much on this one as it will be in a skip in less than a weeks time... BUT I have 3 kids and could really do with some hot water and heating being available for the next few days if possible

You know what I mean anyway...

Any ideas appreciated :D

Thanks

OK - No problem - the new boiler has arrived already and will be delivered here at 9.00 tomorrow so my fitter will be available to install tomorrow morning!

So Alpha will be in the skip tomorrow
