Been reading a lot on these and know the history/problems.

Our heating has started coming on in the night for no apparent reason and the Altech is unable to switch it off. There's no flame on the Altech either so I'm wondering if it's some other RF signal interference.

Just started doing this and we changed the jumper settings years ago.

Anyway I think I'm going to bite the bullet and buy another system.

Can anyone recommend an unwired (battery) RF controller like this that's reliable and easy to set?

Ideally under £200. Would I need to replace my receiver unit if I get a new transmitter? Unsure if they are generic or if it'll only work with my a
Altech unit.

I have a Vaillant Ecotec boiler.

Thanks in advance

Those Altech stats are very unreliable. For a replacement look at Honeywell, avoid Salus and you should be fine. Yes you will need to replace both the transmitter and receiver, they will come together in a kit.
