Will measures behind the Satellite dish interfere with the reception?

Does it make a difference if they're made of metal like those metal spikes?

We have two fat doves that have their heart set on nesting on our minidish, although the stupid birds spend all day making the nest for half of it to fall down again.

Some people suggest plastic cable ties.

No the dish reflects the signal from the satellite back to the LNB. You will be fine putting stuff behind the dish but best to keep the spikes within the shadow of the disk with respect to the way its pointing. That way if a signal does get picked up and reflected back by the metal it cant make it back past the dish and into the LNB in order to cause interference.

Thanks.
I've got loads of twisty ones that hold kids toys to the box. I knew they'd come in useful :)
