We have asbestos soffits - parts are cement based but large parts look to be insulation board - I know the latter needs a licensed contractor and we have been getting some quotes. However, some the advice/method seems to vary - due to HSE guidelines being a bit grey on exterior soffits work. So can anyone help - some have excluded scaffolding costs and so we would arrange that. Do we need specialist scaffolding or just standard. I know the asbestos people will do a partial enclosure. I have looked on HSE web but it discusses a variety of access methods including towers!

Let the contractors provide their own equipment.....they won't be allowed to use yours (if you have any). Just make sure they keep you informed about what they are doing.

Scaffolding supplied for ARB removal must be supplied by registered scaffolding co, it needs specialist cleaning after.
