My elderly mother has just had a couple of chrome bath rails fitted to the wall besides her bath. Something like these:

However, I was just thinking - being chrome they may not provide such a good grip when wet.

Can anybody suggest anything that I could add to them to give them extra grip?

I initially thought of wrapping around some insulation tape, or better still maybe the self adhesive tape that is wrapped around bicycle handlebars??

Personally I'd leave them be......there's a chance that tape could undo when wet etc. Strategic positioning is so important with these!
Has mum reasonable grip? I usually fit 3 like these....two vertical for when she's getting in, and one horizontal for her to heave herself up again.
John :)

Thanks for the advice, I was assuming that self adhesive bicycle tape would stick well as it's designed to stick in all weathers.
