When the thermostat calls for heat, the boiler fires up but the temperature indicators on the front panel rapidly progress to maximum (80 degrees) in approximately 10 seconds whilst the water is obviously still cold.

When the LEDs reach maximum temperature, the boiler understandably cuts out, therefore failing to heat any central heating/hot water.

I've just changed the CH temperature sensor with no effect. Any ideas please?

David may think that!

But you seem to have assumed the boiler is showing an incorrect temperature! Its spot on!

But the heat is not getting out!

Assuming the heating pipe knobs are open ( in line with the pipe ) then I expect that either:-

X Diverter valve is jammed in the DHW position.

X Or most likely the CH filter is blocked. This should have been fitted in the return pipe but were sometimes wrongly put on the flow pipe.
