Hi
We have had a problem with our boiler where the boiler ignites when requesting hot water or central heating, stays on for approx 30 seconds then clicks off. Its quite random , sometimes stays on a little longer sometimes shorter.
We have homeserve insurance , and have had 9 engineer visits in the last month, and numerous new parts fitted , however have now been told its a sludge problem in the boiler and there is nothing that can be done apart from a new boiler installation.

Is there really nothing further that can be done ??
Any Help Appreciated

Lots......get someone who knows what they are doing in!

Is it on hot water or on heating or both?

At worst both heat ex's can be changed at best a powerflush may do the job depending on what you say. That said its not the worlds best boiler and pretty old......if you have to spend more than a few hu ndred on it i would junk it
