A very basic query from a complete amateur

Our current boiler (Worcester 28CDI) is 11 years old and seems to be coming to the end of its life - we now have a fault which our plumber has estimated will cost at least £250 to repair.

We are therefore looking at replacing it with a new one

The plumber is recomending a Baxi 105 HE - but some online forums have horror stories about this model - e.g. "dont touch it with a bargepole etc". I've also seen more than one comment that some plumbers recommend this model simply because its easy to install.

Any general views on this boiler please ?

Many thanks

AFAIK the 105HE is a Band B boiler, and as such can no longer be legally installed in the UK, it's also Baxi's bottom-of-the-range combi

Ask your plumber how he was intending to register the new boiler

Sounds like you might need a new boiler and a new installer.

Tell us the faults you have with the 28cdi, we may be able to help you.

Me thinks another installer who 'can' only fit boilers but unable to service/ repair.

OP look elsewhere. Good chance very little wrong with the boiler other than MI specific service required.
