A question for all the Pro's, how many of you have experienced problems with the fan for this BAXI boiler? We had a replacement fitted today and our chap said he thought that the fan in the BAXI unit was the same one that Sime were using in their boilers and were having to replace loads of them as they were failing.

Duo tec , is a ace boiler but will suffer from time to time with the odd fault as will any other boiler from any other leading manufacturer, People try and compare them with back boilers that lasted and never broke down, we live in a different world nowadays :)

I think this is the model that the Wich magazine readers survey found to be the most reliable and best value.

I have not heard of any particular problems.

There were Issues with the fans on these when they first came out a few years back! and it took D&D a while to figure out what it was and eventually was traced to a Diode or capacitor not being man enough on the fan! but that has been rectified for some time now :D

Quite right I agree with this.
Boilers in the olden days used to be part of your house, nowadays they are to be viewed as an appliance just like your washing machine, dishwasher, fridge etc'.
Think about replacing every 5 to 15 years!
