Bedroom sliding door wardrobe

hi all,
im just looking for some advice on building some sliding door wardrobes in my bedroom.
im going to buy the prefab doors and runners but i was after advice on how to build the frame which wood to use ie size/thickness etc and how to trim it all up. also what tools i need to buy to make things easier.
any info or links would be appreciated

Does not need a frame as such just a timber across the top to accept upper track.
