Hi guys,

I've had a quick search but can't see anything relevant to me, but I have a straight line run of new wardrobes that comes to 3500mm and the cornice supplied comes in lengths of 2000mm. Obviously, a join is required.

Whats the best way to do this?

Is it best to do straight butt up join or do an angled cut etc...

Not sure if it makes a difference but it's this stuff.

Thanks in advance

I'm not a joiner, bedroom fitter or chippy, but..

I would make the join a 45/135 degree cut. I think this always looks better and is easier to 'hide' the join, as long as you can cut accurately.

I make something like a 22.5 or 30 degree cut facing away from the door to make up a "scarfed" joint. I find that 45 degrees is more obvious (long cut line) and butts never work IMHO.

i do as job n knock, but i try to keep the join to 1 end and have it facing away from eye and natural light to diminish the join line.
