A week or so ago I turned the master switch to hot water supply only but when turning the hot tap at the sink off the boiler momentarily turns off and almost immediately comes back on and starts to heat the rads. This is not every time but retuned home the other very warm day to find a very very warm house. Any help gratefully received. Does this mean a replacement valve or has somebody another suggestion. many thanks Tony

The DHW flow switch is staying on as a result of the pin gland leaking. The gland leaks as a result of dirt in the water and its essential that the pin is fully cleaned when replacing the gland.

This is normally a job for a CORGI as the gas valve has to be removed to gain access to the parts. I did once hear of someone who removed the LH hydraulic block instead but thats a lot of work!
