Hi all, first time poster here after coming across this Forum on a Google search and just wondering if anyone can help...

I have a problem with a 2005 Biasi Garda M90F.28S (sorry, I can add serial when I return from a business trip later this week if required)

About 3-4 months ago, we started having trouble with the DHW intermittently not working unless CH was running (With CH on, it seemed to work every time). As it was still cold until recently and CH was on most the time, we have managed to "make do" with this and put off getting a resolution. The problem has however slowly become more acute and the same intermittent problem is now occurring on both DHW and CH as well as on simultaneous operation.

Basically what happens now when activating either function, is the fan and pump spin up for about 20 seconds, there is eventually a series of occassional clicks before the fan then pump cuts out and the operation green light starts flashing rapidly. Disengaging and re-engaging DHW via the tap or CH via the on/off via the timer will eventually force it to kick in and ignite but only after maybe between 3-7 attempts at either!

Just to note, the Red Lockup light always remains off and a reset has not been required, also once ignited on either or both functions there are no issues with it cutting out etc.

So far, only the diaphragm has been replaced. The old one was deformed to almost egg shaped and so was assumed to be the issue, however after initially appearing to be ok, we are now back to square one with the intermittency. I have considered maybe the Air Pressure Switch or a wider issue with the diverter valve as my next port of call?

Can anyone advise if I am on the right track or if I may need to look elsewhere?

Really hoping the boiler is not shot... Although a much maligned brand, it's been a great servant with zero faults up until now!

Oh and just to mention, it was a fully qualified engineer who changed the diaphragm and in fairness to him, didn't charge much and boiler WAS briefly fully working when he left it!... I Just wanted some more advice before getting him back so I am armed with a bit of info to prevent any bills for avoidable work.

Thanks in advance all!

I am not good on Biasi boilers, Tony is a specialist.

Air pressure switch is for fan proving. For this boiler, there is a primary circuit flow switch for water pressure and pump proving.

Pay attention to these two components.

You should not be touching the air switch as thats only for a gas qual engineer. Most unlikely to be at fault anyway.

Most likely to be the pump proving switch as Ming has suggested.

There are many causes for this and a search of the forum will find many suggestions.

First thing to do is to feel the pin and see how easy it is to push it back. Should be very difficult with a naked finger!
