bmw 318 1999-rear screen heating not working

hello everyone,
hope someone can help me. my rear screen heating(de mister) is not working. i have checked the fuse and it is fine.
the car is a 1999 318 saloon
would appreciate it very much if someone can tell me what could be wrong.
my immediate thought was, the fuse. however the fuse is fine and i dont know what else to check.

Check to see if you're getting any power to the rear wires.
They have a relay too, which may be the problem

thanks for the reply. can you please give me any ideas as to how to check for the power and the relay. sorry but i am uselesss when it comes to electrics.
is this something i can check or do i have to get the car to a garage.

thanks bob-the-builder. is this a case of just pulling the affected relay out and replacing with same?
if the relay is faulty, will there be any physical signs?

If checking the relay does not help then also have a look at the wiring around the aerial amplifier. The rear demister doubles as the aerial for the stereo and there is an amplifier located in one of the rear roof pillars which picks up the signal, amplifies it and sends it back to the stereo. The power to the demister runs through this point aswell.
