Boiler box - which material?

I am a complete novice when it comes to woodwork.

I have a new boiler fitted in the kitchen, next to the cup board. The kitchen is fairly dated but I don't want to make it uglier than it is. At the moment I have a bunch of pipes under and around the boiler in view that I'd like to cover.

The idea is simple, a box with white matte finish on two long battens left/right from bottom to ceiling, the panel cutting around the middle where the boiler is, to cover pipes below/left/right, and flue.

This is not my boiler but similar, mine has pipes left and right of the boiler,

What sort of material should I use/buy for this? I will get some help as well.

That is interesting, but in my case the pipes are run around the boiler. Two for heating on the left, two for water on the right (no back panel) :/

These guys seem to offer cutting and edging service with it, is it too expensive?
