I have an old Opollo 50/80.

I had it checked out by a 'Corgi' friend after I dismantled it and relocated it from Kitchen to bathroom whilst working on my house.

I replaced the main solenoid valve, thermocouple and high and low temperture sensors.

That was about five years ago. Boiler has been fine. Last week it started cutting out. It kettles then quickly shutsdown.

I assumed this was either airlock or knackered cenral heating pump. I have repaced the pump and tried to remove all air in the system.

I have now drained and filled with 2 litres of X200 descaler / noise reducer as I now think I have lime build up inside. I am runing on 'Hot water' only to keep the concentrate as strong as possible.

I am now randomly trying to restart boiler to see if limescale is clearing. Trouble is I do not know whether the system needs to be hot for it to work. Also, I maybe completely wrong in my diagnosis.

Any comments or advice would be welcomed, failing that I think I will be looking at a new boiler.
