Hi I have a Worcester Heatslave boiler that refuses to fire up with out locking out. Heating engineer & electrician have checked everything out & decided it could be a seized solanoid so replaced it but it made no difference. Everything has been stripped & checked but to no avail. What can we try next please?

A different "Heating Engineer" perhaps >>
Why did he need the assistance of a Sparky ???

What is happening in the ignition sequence. What is the oil pressure ? is there a spark or flame ?

The age old problem is the solenoid coil which operates the valve inside the pump......that's dead easy to check with a multimeter.
As Terry says though, we don't know if there's a spark either, which should operate for around 6 sec commencing when the burner starts to spin.....being a combi, the igniter does get a hard life.
John :)

Which Heatslave is it? Does it have an EOGB burner or Riello?
If EOGB, with a Satronic box, then something has probably shorted and goosed the control box. If Riello, then try a new photocell. Removing the cell should see it fire before going to lockout.

Sorry for not getting back sooner.
Terrywookfit I took your first line of advice & found someone who knew what they were doing. It was not igniting due to 2-3 wires inside the burner loose & faulty plug connector. All sorted now thanks every one your input is always useful
