A lintel is going in, the wall has been removed, but the outer brick cannot come up to the same level as the inner blocks, so is 2 courses lower. We can't put anything below the bricks due to head room.
I am waiting for structural engineer to get back to my builder.
But I'm wondering if a boot lintel would work as I saw them in steel fabricators today.
Any thoughts.

Thanks

Why can't the bricks come up to the same level as the blocks, and where are you going to put the boot lintel. The boot lintel would normally go on the outside to make it look neat, and a concrete lintel on the inside, because it'll be plastered over.

Hello. there is 2 course of brick that has the porch roof bolted to it so cant really come out. i saw an I beam with a plate welded to it in the steel fabricators and they said it was called a Boot Lintel.
The blocks cant come down to the bricks height due to stairs head room.

Thoughts

You want an inverted T shape steel lintel, and then pack the block side with bricks, but if the blocks can't come down to the brick height, how's the I beam going in. Or is it just that you can't get another block in.
