Why is the black one susceptible to breaking ?

My sister's 1.9 TDi is now on to its 4th set of clips, having had the car 8 years.

I replaced the clips last time myself and they've lasted just over 4 years.

Its the smaller lug clip on the black clip that pulled out then when the pedal was released, the pedal arm pulled the white clip off so I replaced both of them.

Don't know, we have bought a Golf with the clip broke, would the clutch be getting hard to apply, faulty pressure plate? We didn't get the clip replaced, yet.
Your sister might be over using the clutch, but don't say I said that ..........
