Hi guys,

I want to build a couple of planters in the garden up to 3ft high. The route i'm planning to take it to construct a wall out of breeze blocks, have a damp proof membrane between the soil and the wall, and then apply a render to finish.

Firstly, I'm looking at using '7 Newton blocks' similar to these

Will they be suitable?

Are there any issues with rendering a wall like this that I should be aware of?

Cheers,
Andrew

dense concrete will be fine. No need to damp proof the back of them. As for rendering no real issues as long as youre used to doing rendering!

I've never rendered before, but i figured i'd get the wall up first and then work out how to render it...?

Why the question mark? Easy peasy, get stuck in!

Beginner rendering always looks 'rustic', perfect look for the garden.
