Broken Leg

Sorry, Micilin, I missed your post about botox. No, I have never had it, nor indeed heard of it for CP sufferers. I will mention it to my specialists, though and see what they say.

Ok, would be interesting to hear what they say, if it is a suitable treatment or too costly etc

Cheers and good luck

Sorry to here of your problems, Secure. Hope you recover ASAP. I was lucky when I broke my leg - just 8 years old so healed quickly with plaster cast. (Not so lucky 6 years later - got knocked off my bike by a hit & run driver and lost 2 fingers). Seriously though, keep smiling and keep us posted.

First time been back on here for awhile and read this, are you home secure or do you have to stay in hospital?

Best of luck in the recovery,no doubt you can put it to use reviewing all the latest phones.
:D

Wishing you a speedy recovery, at least you'll won't be cooking Christmas dinner ;)

Enyam and mason

;)

Still in hospital. Broken on 14th. Operated 24th. Taken a step back as regards serious pain the night before last night and worsened again last night. My pain is a 7/10 until I get a "wave" of extra pain then it is off the scale.
Called the on-call Doc again. There must be more that they can do other than to call Ortho who said they would refer me to the surgeon (who has now moved hospitals and hasworked his last day here) and refer me to the acute pain team, who come on duty Monday morning 0900?

BTW, there's more in the world than reviewing mobile phones.......
What about all the tablets? :)
;)
Excellent point about the Christmas nosh. However, there is a tragic downside. I shall have to eat a hospital Christmas dinner...

Short-staffed again....WTF is going on? Staff tell me they are penalised for going off sick. Ward sister says the shortages are due to sickness. Staff say that the Trust is terrified of hiring agency staff @ £45 p/hr. Sister says she would be happy of any help. Poor bloke in the bed next to me going home eventually got his ambulance (St John's NOT Arriva. Yes. Ambulances run by bus company...) at 11pm. Promised at 2pm. I still have no word on my incorrectly prescribed solution, despite the woman in dark blue uniform telling Mrs Secure the exact opposite of what she told me the day earlier. No one from the cleaning staff has come to fix the toilet roll situation: a centre feedv toilet roll dispenser in the toliet in my ward is no longer dispensing but has anybody fixed it in 5 days? The joke is, only the cleaning staff have a key... And to cap it all, I seem to be developing a cough which I most definitely did not have before I was admitted. When I complained to the sister that I was worried I was catching it from other patients as it might be something going round, she denied it. How can she? The day before she admitted that diarrhoea was going round the ward. If diarrhoea can, surely a cough/ chest infection can? I am NOT impressed.
Who do they think they are trying to kid?
I AM NOT STUPID EITHER!

Rant over.....

Thank you for reading my rant.

You missed out about the grub.
Seriously though secure here's hoping for an upturn in the situation.

You think you have problems now? NOSEBAG is popping over later to fix the toilet roll dispenser. Hop for your life!

No matter how fed up you feel someone will remind of a worse situation and make you realisle things are not so bad
I don't come on GD very often but have just read about your situation and the bad luck that is occurring
I hope you recover quickly and your health improves,
The hospital palava is frustrating .its impossible to rest isn't it

Have they woken you up at 6am to give you your sleeping pills yet?

No, they've changed that to 2.00am instead. :D

Seriously though SS, hope with the staff shortages they think it is better to send you home for Christmas so you can be with your family. No fun for you being stuck in there and no fun for them having to traipse over to see you for a short while at some inconvenient time set by the hospital.

Hope things improve very quickly for you.

Thanks guys for kind comments. Will consider sending me home for Christmas but I have to be able to get in and out of car up and down steps and walk distance. Have not even cracked walking yet so it is looking grim.
