OK this guy comes along to quote for a job, and says he works out his measurements in "builders Squares".

Can anyone tell me what a BS is and what thats in new money?????

They work out a price on square meter, brick and blockwork. Dont know actual figures but say £500 per square meter, so 100 square meter = £50000.

you get the idea.

we used to use this method as a ball part figure for checking costings. at the time it equated to approx £65.00 per sq foot or£650.00 per sq meter
with increases as they are now its more in line at £95.00 per sq ft
would never send out a tender based on these calculations though. but it did give a ball part feeling. especially in the ones where you were asked,were thinking of having an extension not next summer but the one after and was wondering how much it will cost?
 
Maybe a builders square isn't a real square? like a bakers dozen isn't really a dozen.

He's working it out in rhombusses, erm... rhombus's, erm... rhombii, erm.... Triangles!
