Building a firewood shed

I want to build a small firewood shed in my backyard, but I have never built something similar. I have searched a little on the internet and I've found these plans http://www.howtospecialist.com/outdoor/shed/how-to-build-a-wood-shed/ The problem is that I want something very simple and I also have a tight budget. Could you help me with some tips or maybe a easier way to solve my problem? Thank you in advance for your help!

You could stack the logs and place a few pallets on top and then pull on a tarpaulin. Thats about as simple as it gets.
Keeps the rain off which is all you need to do.

Look on flea bay for second hand coal bunker. Can pick them up for 10 to £15.00-if you collect.

I have analyzed a little the situation and I'm not going to build a wood shed anymore, because it would require a significant investment. I will follow Norcon's tip and use a few pallets, for this winter. Thank you for your feedback and I wish you all the best.

As Norcon said, placing your logs on palette's and covering with tarp is suitable, but you should be asking yourself about how big a wood store do you need.
Are you having wood delivered or collecting and seasoning.

I have wood delivered, and constructed a woodstore out of...... palettes.
Spend a few weeks collecting them, then start screwing/nailing them to each other. Break some palettes down to cover over the gaps. If your interested in the cosmetics then plant a climber and start threading it through the gaps as it grows.
I must admit I paid out for a corregated plastic roof which I added with reclaimed gate hinges to allow access.

As long as your wood is off the floor it is not rotting!

I've built 2, 8m cubed(2x2x2) of space in each approx from pallets. Each shed £45. And that was the cost of the coroline/bitumen roofing and 6" nails. One has withstood 2 trees falling on it. Strong, cheap, but you need to get pallets of identical make etc(critically the sizes) or it looks pants.... will try and post up a pic tomorrow...

A jutting out bit of plastic roof material off the garden shed(or side of the house) fixed onto a simple nailed together wooden frame made out of branches/thin logs with the legs dug into the ground a bit sufficed for us for 3 years until I moved house. Keeps the snow and rain off and lets the wind blow through.

Im going to knock up a more permanent logshed next year.

If you place pallets on top of your log pile bear in mind you can fit posts as you remove the logs.

Your pallet roof will then remain standing. Providing you nail some battens on. Also bear in mind high winds will likely leave it sitting in your neighbours garden a twisted wreck if not anchored down.
