Hi,

I see that when going up you can board out the floor with caberdek (is there a similar product?) which has a plastic top sheet so it can take the wet (at least for 42 days). But if you don't want to go that route how do you work inside above floor joists these days (and meet elf and safety).

This would be to build up first floor walls, gables, and install roof trusses. Or would all work be done off the outside scaffolding? There is an inside structural wall at 1st floor and a steel supporting the roof so there would need to be some work done inside.

TIA

Internal scaffolding if you want to go to the letter of the law as far as HSE is concerned. I have always worked off of a combination of towers, trestles and ladders.

On my last project (only 5m by 5m admittedly) I chucked down some tongue and groove chipboard flooring - only 8 quid a sheet. It was pretty battered by the end but good enough to board out the loft with, despite being rained on quite a few times.
