I have a 4 light spotlight bar(3.5w bulbs ) I just want to plug in via mains socket, what size of mains cable do I need?

You're going to plug a ceiling light into a socket? Where will the flex run? How will you stop it looking like a dogs breakfast?

Remember to use a 3 amp fuse in the plug, not the 13 amp that is fitted to most plugs.

The light fitting is going on the ceiling, but right up to the wall, so I was going to run the cable along the top, and down the corner of the wall, along the skirting to the plug, not a good idea?

Don't know if your light fitting needs an earth or not, so you best get 3 core flex.

You need to devise a way so the flex can't get pulled out of the back of the fitting, cable clips may achieve this. Make the effort to get the right clips to match the cable.

Thanks sparkwright will do, because of where I'm running the cable, am I able to get small dia 3 core cable,( if it's not a standard size ) and it still be safe to use?
