Hi, i am looking to monitor & part control a remote property & wonder how (or if) possible this might be done using an alarm panel. The security part is not a major issue, but knowing what’s going on at the property would be a great help.
I would like to monitor & switch on & off heating & alarm via the net if this is possible. I would also like to be able to monitor things like temperature/water leaks/smokes/ & so on.
An alarm panel will do a lot of this & report to a key pad, but i wasn’t sure if i could access the panel remotely, & get reports via something like a live link or email or GSM on the status of the panel. (Via the web in preference)
The only reason i am looking at alarm panel, is the price. They seemed to be far less expensive than large remote monitor systems, & was hopping to adapted a panel.

Hope you can help.

Cheers.

Chris.
Ps. this will be on a house renovation, so installing cables is no problem at this stage.
