My mums house still has the old metal soil pipe outside and leading to the toilet, it's leaking quite badly where it meets the toilet and also looks a bit of a mess outside

Is it leaking inside the house @ the back of the toilet ? "looks a mess" Paint it with 1 coat of bitumastic paint. Just renew the joint from WC pan to pipe inside - save a lot of graft and cost
