    Hello there.

I was wondering iff anyone here could advise me about firedoor regulations and if you are aloud to plane about 10mm off the bottom to allow for carpet.

    Many thanks

Have you taken the door off yet? On some i've seen there was a label on the bottom stating if the door was messed with the warranty was invalid. Having said that the carpet still had to be laid so the client had me plane the doors to fit. I think there is more of a problem with the strips down the sides which swell in a fire. Regards

The door is designed to allow for normal trimming

In any case, the doorset is less dependent on the gap at threshold than the at the jambs and head

The bottom of the door is rough wood, whilst the top is smooth, this makes me think i can shave a tad off the bottom without too much worry as its rough shaven anyways.

    Thanks for your replys.
