Canopy for 2.4m folding/sliding door

we have a 2.4m wide folding sliding door.
I'm looking at putting some sort of clear perspex canopy over it to help protect it a bit from the weather.
Hs anyone got any advise/ideas/links/have something similar?
All the stuff I've seen on the web is for a single door

You could use wrought iron brakets to hold any length of toughened glass to form a canopy.?
Or cantilever car canopy made to measure in a short depth.
