capping of radiator valve

hi when removing a radiator temparily dow tou use 15 mm blanking nut or 22mm blanking nut on the actual radiator valve where it joins the radoator valve tail to mske the connection and can you use any blanking nut

Depends how long you are leaving it just for a few days should be OK unless it is a thermostatic one as they will turn on if left in the minimum position in the event the room gets very cold.

Many modern rad valves use a normal 15mm compression connection so half a 15mm compression will usually fit on, but older ones and some new use a union size that will not take a cap. In that case remove the tail from the rad refit to the valve and fit a 1/2 BSP cap to that.
