Personally I'd always solder and cover with heat shrink - so much more reliable!
Have the original connectors been cut off?
John :)

Not cut off, that's how the cable is supplied -

I'll do as you suggest Burnerman, solder and sleeve the connectors. Many thanks.

First try contacting a specialist car audio supplier as you might be able to buy an off the shelf adapter to convert from vehicle plug to connector used on your new unit.

Pretty sure the Bora has a standard ISO connector like this...

So you could buy an ISO lead with cables attached like this...

Then solder the lead that comes with the radio to this, giving you the adapter lead that AlanE mentioned.

OR, what I would personally do if the car definitely uses ISO connectors already, spend a bit more on the radio, so that it already has the ISO connector. Like this one for example...

Whatever you choose, DON'T cut the connectors off the car loom. It will be a pain in the backside in the future for changing it back, upgrading again or selling the car!

Gaz :)

thanks folks

I'll consider the options.

I certainly won't interfere with the car radio plug rest assured.

Id avoid anything off ebay that does not carry a brand and is cheap. If you spend a little more and go for something from Halfords etc it should be plug and play with no wiring mods needed.
