Hello
The front elevation of my house has horizontal wooden cladding to it over block work. My front porch currently has a flat roof and I am looking to change it to a pitched construction. I have had preliminary discussions with building control and will submit planning application shortly. I am wondering whether a cavity tray will be necessary or not though? Building control officer thought not as we have the cladding which will remain above the pitched roof. Has anyone else been in this situation and taken a similar route? I would just feel more confident if more people confirmed this was ok!
Thanks very much :)

If you do not have any problems with the existing porch without trays then you wont with the pitched roof either.
