Hi all

After scraping and filling the cracks in the ceiling we have (presumbly where the plasterboard joints are) they seem to come back quite quickly. I am wondering if this is due to to movement from us in the loft. Has anyone else had this problem, how have you rectified it

Thanks

Hi ST55,
I think that maybe the "cracks" in your ceiling could be the paper tapes coming away from the joints in the plasterboard.Sometimes, what you might think is a "crack",can be the loose outside edge of the tape.See if you can put the corner of a scraper underneath it carefuly,if you can then the tape has gone. On the other hand, there might not be any tapes over the joints at all. They might have just put filler on to make them flush. Either way,new tapes on the ceiling would sort out the problem. It's not a big job. If a ceiling is taped properly, normal movement up in the loft shouldn't cause it to crack.
