Hi,

I was wondering if you could help, My Combi stopped working last night I don't get any heating or hot water. When I turn on the heating the boiler works for about 20 seconds and then switches off.

The same thing happens when I turn on the hot water tap, everything fires up but then cuts out after 20 seconds

I have checked the pump - This is OK only about 3 months old
I am sure the 3 way valve was also changed about 9 months ago

Any ideas

Thanks in advance for any help

could be a solenoid problem - this boiler has 3
or the flame is not being detected

can you hear or see sparking?
does the burner light on low gas and stay on for about 45 seconds? (does an orange indicator bulb light on the panel?

so it ignites and the orange indicator bulb lights up?

But then it shortly goes out? (doesn't reach full gas rate)

sounds like the second stage solenoid is faulty then, but things need to be checked by a RGI

Hi,

The orange burner light does come on but then switches off, after 25 seconds. I can also see the flame come on through the window

Hi,

No the red light does not come on, the boiler stops and then starts again.
I also hear a clicking sound when it starts and stops
Just keeps on going round and round but does not burn for a long period.

The pipes warm up slightly

Hi,

I have just left the heating on, Its now not actually igniting.
Only ignites when I turn on the hot water

I can hear the pump etc and fan kick in but no flame

I have tried to reset but no joy

let us know what happened :)

One last thing before you do - try it again in both modes - does the orange bulb definetely light up?

Hi,

The orange light lights up when heating and Hot water tap is turned on
The flame kicks in and then switches off after 10 seconds, the pump and fan carry on working
