Hi and hope that someone can make this painless.

I recently stripped out an old bathroom and want to change the old lighting to something new and funky - recessed low voltage downlights in the ceiling and LED's around the bath area. I want to have these on separate switching as I don't want them on all together. I currently only have a pullcord in the bathroom but can get a plateswitch mounted outside the bathroom when the project starts.

Can anyone help me as to what's the best way of replacing the pullcord and wiring the 2way plateswitch (and to the lights)

Many thanks to all who read and respond.

You do realise that those will do a cr*p job of actually lighting up the room?

Why outside? Not very convenient...

Do you mean 2-way, as in the lights switched from 2 places?

Or 2-gang?

All the info you need to understand the wiring is here:

Don't forget to follow all the rules for concealed cables.

But if you want funky, surely something like these would be more appropriate?

As this work will be notifiable, your (registered) electrician would be able to tell you. Seriously, this job is not for a beginner, you should get two or three quotes.

Many thanks to all who looked and replied - its a 2gang switch I'm putting outside the bathroom and in the hall to operate the two types of lighting.
The LV downlights are not of my choice and have been insisted on!

Thanks again.
