How easy is it to change a starter motor on a 1994 Citroen Relay van?

It's got the 1.9 diesel engine in it Peter...

OK. well of course it depends on access but shouldn't be to difficult. Three bolts go in from the front of the flywheel housing and a bracket securing the rear to the block. Its not to difficult on a BX but not having had any experience of your vehicle it just depends how much room there is round it.

Make sure you disconnect the battery, before removing the connections at the starter motor, as one of these carries power from the battery, and if accidentaly earthed, will cause sparks to fly. :cry:

Well lads I got out and jacked the van up and took the S/motor out and put new one back in . It took me about 45mins , cheers for you help it was held in by 3 x 16mm hex. bolts. Oh and it fixed the problem ;)
 
If I remember rightly the bolts have 10mm heads - seems a bit daft for a bolt that size.
 
It was the heads that were 16mm!!! they were about 70mm long.
